Full Steam Ahead for Halo!

Halo Steam!

Halo fans were given some long-awaited news last week, as Microsoft and 343 Industries left some cryptic tweets and teasers, leaving said fans on the edge of their seat guessing whether or not Halo MCC will be coming to PC…

What is MCC?

MCC stands for the Halo: The Master Chief Collection. This is a remastered package which is made up of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4 – all of which was originally launched on Xbox One back in 2014! We know – we can’t believe its been quite this long either.

So, is Halo coming to PC?

YES! A HUGE YES! The Halo developers 343 Industries made it official last week alongside Microsoft that Halo is coming to PC and we couldn’t be more excited and neither can you guys apparently! As a thank you – fans have been sending Pizza’s to the development team to showcase their gratitude in dough.
The team apparently has been that overwhelmed with all the dough that they have asked their fans to stop, as they just can’t possibly eat anymore!

What is going to happen next?

343 Industries are one of our favourite developers by a mile! As the wheels are put into motion for the PC release – they are launching a Halo Insider Programme that will allow YOU the chance to play their pre-release versions and have your own input on all Halo Games and services. PC or console in return you will give your feedback. A pretty sweet deal we think!
However, before you start jumping for joy – you should note that there is a chance that you won’t get into every test as there are no guarantees, but it may be the best possible chance that you have to play a future Halo game in advance.

When will it be available?

The first installment to the MCC series will, of course, be Halo: Reach and is the main priority for the team, however, the release date hasn’t actually been confirmed as of yet. The current plan is to make sure there is support for ‘uncapped FPS’ in each title for PC, but that could change depending on the complexities of each game.
However, Brian Jarrad (AKA Ske7ch) has confirmed that they will be working on Halo: Reach and Halo: Combat Evolved are happening in parallel to each other. Which dependent on the tests could mean it could be lengthened or shortened.
